  • Cosmax Bio's R&I (Research and Innovation) Center began
    its research and development on the ingredients and formulation of health functional foods, in line with Cosmax's founding philosophy as a "Research-oriented" company.
  • Emphasizing the core values of "Creativity, Innovation" and "Professionalism," the center's acronym, R&I, reflects its commitment to practicing and emphasizing these values.
    With over 50 researchers stationed at the R&I centers in Pangyo, Jecheon, and Shanghai, the center focuses on the development and quality control of new materials and formulations.

  • Regulatory Planning Team
  • The Regulatory Planning Team is responsible for licensing, labeling, advertising, and other related tasks.
    They ensure that products comply with regulations and trends, facilitating timely product launches. The team also handles post-market surveillance in accordance with regulatory revisions and policies. Their responsibilities include:
  • Licensing (Business permits and health functional food product notification/reporting)
  • Product labeling and advertising
  • Collaboration tasks (with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, etc.) and policy monitoring and management
  • Support for overseas export-related certification
  • Internal training and responding to inquiries from regulatory authorities

  • Product Development Team
  • The Product Development Team focuses on researching and developing formulations and packaging that lead the health food market.
    They have successfully introduced patented technologies for plant-based soft capsules, enteric-coated soft capsules, and gel & gummi products, as well as PET vials, being the first in Korea to do so. Their activities include:

  • Customized formulation and product development for each client

  • Material Research Team / New Material Development Team
  • The Material Research Team conducts the exploration, planning, and research process of natural and microbial raw materials to develop globally recognized functional ingredients with proven functionality and safety from institutions such as the MFDS (Ministry of Food and Drug Safety) and FDA. Their tasks include:
  • Reviewing and exploring new functional ingredients domestically and globally
  • Applying for and obtaining approvals for domestic individual recognition-type ingredients
  • Global regulatory approvals
  • Execution of national R&D projects in collaboration with industry and academia
  • Securing domestic and global intellectual property rights
